Business Development Manager BESS

CLN Energy Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development – BESS to spearhead growth in the energy storage sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities, forming strategic alliances, and securing commercial contracts to scale our BESS business across key markets.

Department – Business Development/Sales

Qualification – Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline (Master’s or MBA is advantageous).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in utility-scale and commercial Industrial, residential & BESS markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, utilities, EPC contractors, investors, regulatory bodies, inverter, UPS manufacturer.
  • Lead deal origination, commercial negotiations, and project development efforts through to financial close.
  • Collaborate with internal technical and engineering teams to structure commercially viable and technically sound BESS solutions.
  • Monitor energy market trends, policies, and competitor activities to inform strategy and product development.
  • Prepare business cases, investment proposals, and sales forecasts for executive leadership.
  • Represent CLN Energy Ltd at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to raise brand visibility and generate leads.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline (Master’s or MBA is advantageous).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in business development or commercial roles within the renewable energy or energy storage sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of BESS technologies, market applications (e.g., frequency regulation, peak shaving, energy arbitrage), and revenue models.
  • Proven track record of closing commercial deals and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with energy policy, project financing, and regulatory frameworks is a strong plus.
